11 Things Every Sea Cadet Can Relate To...

Ahoy Matey!

http://www.seacadet.in/

You can take this cadet out of S.C.C but, never can you take Sea Cadet Corps out of this Cadet.
So much so for missing the days spent romancing the sea with discipline in the air.
Yes, I was a Sea Cadet and I can never be more proud!
I dedicate this post to all my fellow Ex Sea Cadets who are missing the Corps from the bottom of their Souls (I know and can relate to it too).

Here are the 11 Things Every Sea Cadet Can Relate To.

1) Every time we see a cadet in that nostalgia woven uniform all we remember is our true blue days at the TS Jawahar, all for good reasons.

2) We left sea cadet and the adventures we had there, to fill up this gap we have to indulge ourselves in many adventurous activities.

Sea Cadets Relate To Adventure

"For the love of it lets go to kolad do some river rafting or at least join this Awesome adventure club." ;)

3) Every Republic Day we have our deepest desire is to go and attend the R.D. Parade at Shivaji Park.
All those who stay near Dadar, dude you are L-U-C-K-Y!!

"Miss the Republic Day parades!!" :(

4) Desh Bhakti (Love towards our nation) or say, the
Defence forces is a never ending emotion we imbibe in ourselves. Coz, loving sea cadets means loving India.

"Isn’t our promise proof enough?!" :)

5) No matter what Field we chose after leaving Sea cadets, we are trained leaders who know exactly what they are doing.

6) Every ship reminds us of T.S Jawahar and the concrete beauty that it is in itself.

 "Truly a beauty!"

7) Every time we tie a knot, all we remember is the overhand, figure of eight or the bowline…..

Rigging learned in Sea Cadet Corps.
"What? Just tie a figure of eight man!"

8) We know we overcame our many fears during our training period and interaction with people is one learned talent to name.

 "Remember? ISCA Regatta!"

9) We miss Sea Cadet buddies and try to get in touch with the ones who lost contact via the blessed social media.

Sea Cadets on Facebook.
"Such posts can be seen on every second page related to S.C.C!"

10) It doesn’t matter if we attended the ceremony, the presentation of the CNS standard was one of the proudest moment for all the sea cadets at heart.

Sea Cadet Corps being presented the CNS standards.
"Miss you Angre Sir!" :*

11) Last but not the least, the respect we have for our Commodore Superintendent Rabi Ahuja is indescribable.

  11. Although getting away frm Sea Cadets n TS Jawahar was regretful... it has tought me tremendous things. Sea Cadets Crops is a sea of opportunities that i hav floated through. At d beginning 4 yrs seemed long..bt time jst flew away..whn i wished it could last. And d best part is "Being a Sea Cadet" Everything.. d rigging, semaphore, boatpulling, regatas, getting an opportunity of working in colaberation Wid d Indian Navy at d Gateway of India n band especially. Colours ceremony, standing proud on d upper deck, near d flag, playing d bugal, ever playing tht quater masters pipe, the RD Parade, participating in so many parades being a part of d band,wow..n cooking breakfast in d canteen aftr d saturday stays...all memories jst flashed in a glans.. Mere 4yrs bt cn never stop talking abt it ones started. Whenever i see a uniformed Sea Cadet Thts a proud feeling. Our Promise is wht i'll always remembr n motto is wht i'll never forget. Thanks fr writing this blog Amreen.
Correctly said,"Ones a Sea Cadet always a Sea Cadet."

  24. Dear Amreen,
In a glimpse your write up took me back down the memory lanes that I left almost about to be 50 years now. Though still they are as fresh as a dew in my mind! The parade, rifle training, band groove all kept me mesmerised. As an ardent cadet I still keep with myself the discipline, thoughtfulness, and sincerity which I had then and I still have now. Thanks for the flash back!

  42. Hello!
I have been following sea cadets since my school days. I never been a sea cadet, because I do not stay near to any sea cadet orgs. But I follow and truly admire the sea cadets. Though I could not join sea cadet, I made my own syllabus from the website and started training myself like a sea cadet. Knots, disaster management, signalling, service knowledge, etc etc. Obviously that's not a proper way to learn or become a sea cadet, but I was very much into it. In a nutshell, I was a different kind of sea cadet. Now I am grown up but remember those childhood days like yesterday.
